田中辰斎（たなか しんさい、本名：憲治、1940年生まれ）は、東京都台東区浅草を拠点に約70年間活動している現役の画工（絵師）です。
江戸時代の技法や浮世絵からインスピレーションを受けながらも、全く独自の技法で、地域の歴史や文化を今に伝える数多くの作品を手掛けています。

Shinsai Tanaka (real name: Kenji, born 1940) is an active painter who has been working in Asakusa, Taito-ku, Tokyo for approximately 70 years.
Inspired by Edo period techniques and Ukiyo-e prints, he creates numerous works that convey the history and culture of the region using his own unique techniques.

【主な活動・実績】
Main activities and achievements

* 神楽殿の壁画制作
浅草の矢先稲荷神社において、江戸時代の浅草にあった「三十三間堂」を再現する巨大な壁画（神楽殿シャッター）を制作しました。

* Mural Production for Kagura Hall
At Yasaki Inari Shrine in Asakusa, we created a massive mural (on the shutter of the Kagura Hall) that recreates the "Sanjusangen-do" temple that existed in Asakusa during the Edo period.

* 地域文化の担い手
浅草の神社における絵馬の修復や浅草寺のイベントに関わる作品、浅草・奥山おまいりまち等のシャッター絵の制作など、下町の歴史的景観の維持に貢献しています。

* Bearers of Local Culture
They contribute to the preservation of the historical landscape of downtown Tokyo by restoring votive tablets at shrines in Asakusa, creating artwork for events at Senso-ji Temple, and producing shutter art for the Asakusa-Okuyama pilgrimage district.

* 出版物とアート
1970年創刊のタウン誌『月刊浅草』の表紙絵やコラム執筆、宿泊施設（例：御宿野乃浅草別邸）館内の壁画、浅草界隈のグルメマップ制作など、多様な媒体で親しみやすいイラストや絵画を提供しています。

* Publications and Art
We provide approachable illustrations and paintings for a variety of media, including cover art and columns for the town magazine "Monthly Asakusa," which was founded in 1970, murals inside accommodations (e.g., Onyado Nono Asakusa Bettei), and gourmet maps of the Asakusa area.
